Essex County Community Foundation (ECCF) is dedicated to strengthening the communities of Essex County, Massachusetts, by promoting philanthropy, managing charitable funds, and working collaboratively to address critical community issues. We are seeking a skilled Development Operations Manager to join our team. This new role will build capacity in our ability to reach growing fundraising and asset development goals and will join a talented, experienced, and energetic team.
Essex County Community Foundation (ECCF) inspires philanthropy across the 34 cities and towns in Essex County, Massachusetts. We do this in three vital ways: 1) Managing and investing donor’s charitable assets; 2) Strengthening and supporting local nonprofits with the knowledge and financial resources needed to sustain lasting impact; 3) Bringing organizations together and to invest in “systems-change” work that addresses root-causes of social issues in our region.
The Employment Opportunity
The Development Operations Manager reports to the Director of Development and works closely with and in support of members of the Asset Development and Philanthropic Services Team. The Development Operations Manager’s primary goal is to increase the overall success of the fundraising and asset development Team by creating and implementing proactive and efficient systems that keep the team focused on successful relationship building and management. This position supports donor-facing communication, events, campaigns, and stewardship activities and will oversee and implement data management and best practices as it relates to the achievement of asset development and fundraising goals.
The Development Operations Manager will be responsible for:
- Management and support of Annual Fund Program.
- Management and support of Corporate Partnership Program.
- Support of strategic initiative fundraising goals as needed.
- Support the fundraising/asset development cycle as needed.
- Management of key CRM functionality and organization of key development activities.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage and Support ECCF’s Annual Fund Program.
- Support the Director of Development in the design and execution of the annual fund program with a goal of raising $300,000 annually.
- Support ongoing donor stewardship and moves management of current annual fund donors, including events and communication.
- Proactive pipeline development through research, identification, and recommendations.
Manage and Support ECCF’s Corporate Partnership Program.
- Support the Director of Development in the design and execution of the Corporate Partner program with a goal of raising $250,000 annually.
- Support Corporate Partner stewardship and benefits management, including events and communication.
- Proactive pipeline development through research, identification, and recommendations.
Support ECCF’s Special Initiative fundraising
- Assist in executing special initiative fundraising campaigns including, but not limited to, Creative County Initiative, Climate Resiliency, and The Endowment for Essex County.
General Development Operations
- Oversee and implement data management best practices in CRM for all aspects of donor prospecting, cultivation, stewardship, campaign management.
- Support the Director of Gift Planning and Advisor Relations in use of CRM to prospect, cultivate, and steward relationships with new professional advisors
- Track and manage guest and mailing lists for all fundraising campaigns.
- Support fundraising and asset development goals through reporting and data analysis as needed.
- Maintain a calendar of fundraising, stewardship, and event deadlines for all ECCF fundraising activities.
- Support the Director of Development in executing and tracking outreach and communication to Trustees and Major Donors.
Candidate Profile
The Development Operations Manager will have a passion for the community and commitment to the nonprofit sector and philanthropy. The candidate will be detail/process-oriented and have strong relationship building skills. Successful candidates will be a team player, have a can-do attitude, maintain the highest levels of integrity, have natural curiosity for improving processes and results, and will be ready to learn and have fun at work.

· Minimum of three-five years of fundraising and development experience.

· Record of accomplishment in the design and execution of annual fund campaigns.
· Experience in corporate giving/sponsorship programs.
· Experience with CRMs and donor databases.
· Skilled at donor prospecting and research to qualify potential donors.
· Highly organized, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
· Ability to meet deadlines and work flexibly and creatively within a fast-moving, changing, and complex environment.
· Enjoys a role that requires both autonomy and a commitment to teamwork.
Compensation/Benefits:
This position is a professional, full-time exempt staff position and will be eligible to participate in the Foundation’s health plan, retirement plan and other employee benefits. The salary range is $55,000-$70,000 and is commensurate with skill level, experience, and sector benchmarks.
